MEET YOUR OT

Hi, I’m Alana. I’ve spent the past 16 years working in the community across Government, not-for-profit and private organisations, with the establishment of Range Occupational Therapy in 2020. I enjoy visiting adults in their own homes and coming up with practical solutions to help mitigate the impact of their condition. I have extensive skills and experience in identifying and implementing assistive technology (equipment) and home modification solutions.  Completing a major DIY renovation of my own home has given me a unique and practical insight into building construction and made me a better home mods OT. 

Qualifications and competencies (selection):

• Bachelor Occupational Therapy, University of Queensland - 2008. 
• Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) registration # OCC0001746421
• Attainment of two nationally accredited home modification competencies: CPPACC4020A (provide access advice on building renovations) and CPPACC5016A (provide expert access advice on renovations to private dwellings).
• Accredited Functional Independence Measure (FIM) assessor.
• Perceive Recall Plan Perform (PRPP) system of task analysis assessor. 
• Completion of Social Role Valorisation (SRV) training by Values in Action. 
• Completion of multiple smart care for health professionals Moving and Handling webinars by Risk Managed. 
• Completion of multiple Home Modification training events by Home Design for Living.
• Completion of Clinical Supervision training by Darling Downs Hospital and Health Service. 
• Presenter of Bidet Prescription 101 webinar though Verve OT training.
